Fear Exposure AR

FEAR Exposure AR is a cutting-edge application designed to digitalize exposure therapy using Augmented Reality (AR), empowering users to confront and overcome their phobias. By integrating AR technology with real-time heart rate monitoring, the app provides an immersive and systematic approach to phobia management. Through the use of ARKit, it delivers lifelike 3D representations of feared objects, allowing users to engage in controlled and customizable exposure experiences. Additionally, the app leverages HealthKit and WatchKit to utilize the Apple Watch for real-time heart rate tracking, offering dynamic feedback and progress monitoring throughout therapy sessions. To ensure a seamless user experience, Concurrency Programming is employed to efficiently load AR objects, while Swift Data is used to store session logs and settings, enabling personalized therapy and detailed session reviews. Built using MVVM Clean Architecture, the application is designed for scalability, maintainability, and robust performance. As the iOS Developer during my time at the Apple Developer Academy @ UC for the Macro Challenge, I developed the app’s core features, including AR exposure, heart rate tracking, and session data management. FEAR Exposure AR exemplifies the transformative potential of AR in mental health applications, providing users with an empowering tool to confront their fears in a safe, controlled environment.
